You might want to start stocking up on your favourite booze. Staff of the Liquor Control Board of Ontario (LCBO) will be holding a vote on April 24th and 25th to determine whether they will go on strike.
The LCBO staff, who are represented by the Ontario Public Service Employees Union, are unhappy about the government’s move to selling beer and wine in grocery stores. Other major concerns on the table include job security, health and safety, and scheduling, all of which they hope will be addressed later this month.
If the OPSEU and the LCBO cannot come to an agreement, a province-wide strike is likely.
