When it's worth the splurge.
14 Expensive Makeup Products That Are Actually Really Worth It

I'm not going to lie, I live for luxury makeup. No shade against drugstore makeup (I love drugstore makeup too!), but there's just something about holding a luxurious lipstick or a beautifully boxed bronzer that is just so satisfying.

That being said, I don't just love any expensive makeup, the quality also has to be impeccable. If I'm going to spend two meals worth of mullah on a makeup product, it'd better be worth it. And I'm 100% certain that I'm not the only one who feels that way.

As a seasoned makeup lover, I've come to adore these 14 high-end makeup products. These are the boujee bad boys that I keep going back to time and time again, even though I know I can hardly afford it. I'd rather starve than go without these makeup products #jknotjk.

Here are 14 high-end makeup products that I think are truly worth every penny.

Foundation Primer // Laura Mercier

Price: $45

Hands down one of the best foundation primers out there. It comes in multiple version including, oil-free, hydrating, bronzing, etc. So depending on what skin type you have, Laura Mercier primers can accommodate! I personally love using the hydrating line as I have painfully dry skin and it leaves my mug looking dewy and moisturized all day. Here's the line up.

Soft Matte Complete Concealer // NARS

Price: $37

Everyone raves about NARS' Radiant Creamy Concealer, but I genuinely prefer the Soft Matte Concealer instead. The formula is super lightweight but also very high coverage. It's perfect for spot concealing any blemishes (it's pretty much a blemish eraser). I also love using this on days that I don't want to wear any foundation and just a bit of makeup to conceal under my eyes, around the nose, and on the chin.

Lift Concealer // Makeup Forever

Price: $33

Unless I'm in a hurry or feeling super lazy, I tend not to use cream concealer under the eyes because they can create some rather unforgiving creases. Liquid concealers however, do not, and Makeup Forever's liquid Lift concealer is phenomenal for covering up under the eyes. It brightens as well as conceals and doesn't give you any ghostly flashback when taking pictures.

Star Fluid Foundation // Dior

Price: $64

Dior's Star Foundation is probably one of the most underrated high-end foundations. You don't hear too much hype about it, but it really deserves more praise. It's not incredibly high coverage which is exactly what is so great about this foundation. It gives a super natural finish to the skin and is very buildable if you're looking for more just a little more. It works with both oily and dry skin types and I highly recommend it.

Filmstar Bronze & Glow // Charlotte Tilbury

Price: $80

This bronzing and highlighting duo palette is going to be a game changer in your makeup collection. The bronze is the perfect neutral tone that doesn't give you an orangey hue and the highlighter is a beautiful iridescent golden beige that will make you glow from within. If you have a light to medium skin tone, use the highlighter on your cheekbones and the sculpting powder on the hollows of your cheeks. If you have a deeper skin tone, you can mix the two powders together and apply to your cheekbones for a beautiful glow.

5-In-1 BB Advanced Performance Cream Eyeshadow // bareMinerals

Price: $24

BareMinerals' Cream Eyeshadows aren't just great as cream shadows but as eyeshadow primers! They come in many shades ranging from neutral light beiges to deep plums. It's perfect as a base for your eyeshadow or even on their own.

Modern Renaissance Eyeshadow Palette // Anastasia Beverly Hills

Price: $55

Anastasia Beverly Hills always kills it with their makeup, and this eyeshadow palette is no exception. Since deep, warm-toned colours have become the new "neutral", the Modern Renaissance palette is perfect for creating an everyday natural eye look and even for more trendy, glam looks as well. The colour pay off is fantastic and the shadows are super blendable.

The Feline Flick // Charlotte Tilbury

Price: $35

I love the cult-favourite Kat Von D Trooper liner, but The Feline Flick eyeliner stacks right up. The brush tip eyeliner is easy to use, creates precise lines and applies the product beautifully without skipping or smudging. The pigment is super black and is perfect for drawing on those razor sharp cat eyes.

Noir Couture 4-In-1 Mascara // Givenchy

Price: $38

Let me tell you right now that I have super short, stick straight lashes that point downwards. This mascara has literally saved my life. A few coats of Givenchy's Noir Couture mascara and my lashes are as long and voluminous as can be. I've even been asked by my friends whether I was wearing falsies that day or not.

Goof Proof Brow Pencil // Benefit

Price: $32

Benefit's entire range of eyebrow products are simply amazing, but the Goof Proof Brow Pencil is one of my favourites. The double-ended pencil makes it great for travelling as you don't have to carry multiple items just to do your brows, and the solid brow formula creates a very natural brow look (sorry, no Insta brows here).

Hot Lips Lipstick in "Kim K.W." // Charlotte Tilbury

Price: $39

Okay, I know I've probably mentioned Charlotte Tilbury a few too many times in this list but her products are just too beautiful, and her collab with Kim Kardashian West was just too legendary to not add on this list. The lipstick in shade "Kim K.W." is the perfect beige-pink, with long-lasting colour and a formula that glides on like butter.

Rouge Allure Gloss // Chanel

Price: $37

With the colour payoff like a liquid lipstick but the integrity of a lipgloss, Chanel's Rouge Allure Gloss is definitely one of my top favourite lippies of all time. The shades they offer are pigmented and high shine, while the formula is moisturizing yet far from sticky. It's a yes from us.

Sugar Lip Polish // Fresh

Price: $29

Am I the only one or does it seem like lip care is one of the most overlooked skin care regimens ever? Exfoliating the lips is so important, especially if you love wearing lip products. The worst thing is having your gorgeous matte lipstick start flaking on you in the middle of the day. Fresh's Sugar Lip Polish contains sugar that buffs away dry skin on the lips and shea butter and jojoba oil leaves them conditioned and looking plump.

CrĂšme de Rose Smoothing Plumping Lip Balm // Dior

Price: $35

Lip balm definitely doesn't have to be expensive, but if you're looking to own an extra little piece of luxury, this Dior lip balm will definitely make you feel boujee. The lightly rose scented lip balm conditions, plumps and protects the lips with SPF 10 and antiaging components. I never leave the house without this bad boy by my side - especially during the colder months.
