14 Of The Best And Ugly AF Style Trends We've Seen In 2017 So Far
As you know in fashion, one day you're in, and the next day, you're out. There are many awesome, incredibly innovative, and trendy styles that have emerged this year, and plenty of them, we are loving!
But, there are also some trends that have carried on from 2016 that seriously need to die. Or trends that have claimed to be "in style" again that have us vomiting. I mean seriously...the kitten pump heel? NO.

Best // Sneakers
According to professional buyer of design at Intermix, Gennie Yi, sneakers will continue to be a huge trend as they're super versatile. You can dress up an outfit with glittery or furry sneakers, or dress down an outfit with simple, clean sneakers.
Ugly AF // Tracksuits
As you already know, '90s and early 2000s style has been taking over this year. From chokers to pink sunnies, it's undeniable. But once a fashion faux pas, always a fashion faux pas.

Best // Culotte cut
The culotte cut is flattering for any figure, and in a short amount of time, it's become a wardrobe must-have. They're also sooooo super comfortable. We don't think these will be going out any time soon.
Ugly AF // Jorts
The jorts, otherwise known as the mom shorts or denim shorts that end just above the knee, are incredibly unflattering. But apparently, labels like Citizens of Humanity, Tommy Hilfiger, and celebrities like Gigi Hadid and Kim Kardashian are trying to bring this style back. It's a no for me.

Leather pants are about to be the biggest thing and you ain't even know yet. From Hermés to Valentino, Acne Studios to Alexander McQueen, the biggest fashion houses have been super into leather for Fall 2017 and we're crazy excited to stay warm and stylin' this fall and winter season.
Ugly AF // Jeans with inappropriate cut outs

One of Fall 2017's biggest trends is going to be NO cleavage. Classy and sophisticated - high Victorian style collars are going to be super trending and won't leave your chest out in the cold.

Why did underboob even become a thing? Celebrities like Gigi Hadid, Bella Hadid, Rihanna, Lady Gaga have been overdoing the underboob and we're over it. And I mean, what about the itty bitty titty committee who can't rock this look (I can say that because I'm its president)? No respect.

Best // Statement tees
Statement tees and logo tees are making a comeback. Seen on the runway at Dior, Gucci, Moschino and more, t-shirts with a political statement or brand logo have been establishing a serious presence.
Ugly AF // Denim bustier
Back in 2001, Britney wore a denim-on-denim outfit matching with Justin Timberlake (we all remember that look) where she included a denim bustier in her ensemble. The denim bustier should've stayed in 2001. Dior and Bella Hadid are trying to bring it back...but I don't know that it's working.

There's nothing as classic as a clean, crips button-up shirt. But designers have been cutting them up, adding ruffles, corsets, making them off the shoulder to take this staple to the next level, and we're loving it.
Ugly AF // Thrasher t-shirts
Now don't misunderstand us. Thrasher tees aren't ugly. But when you're not a skater, and you're posing to be one, that's ugly. Stop wearing Thrasher t-shirts! This trend began towards fall last year so we can hardly call this a 2017 trend, but guys, we are deep into 2017 and the Thrasher t-shirt trend is still a thing. Unless you are a true skateboarder, even Thrasher editor Jake Phelps is telling you to stop.

Best // Mules and slides
Mules and slides are perhaps the best shoe style to have ever been invented. They are effortlessly chic and infinitely comfortable. In fact, maybe perhaps even better is the fact that any "backless" shoe style is incredibly trendy. Slide on shoes for the win.
Ugly AF // Kitten heels slingbacks
Omg, but girl...what. are. those. When Vogue announced that kitten heels will be making a comeback this year...I think I puked a little inside. The slingback kitten heels are returning to haunt us and we want nothing to do with it.
