5 Life-Changing Beauty Hacks That Are Way Cheaper Than Eyelash Extensions

Because who was the cash to keep up with extensions?!
5 Life-Changing Beauty Hacks That Are Way Cheaper Than Eyelash Extensions

Eyelash extensions, while super bougie and glamorous, can be super expensive and tedious to maintain. You're not supposed to get them wet, or rub them and you also need to fill them on the regular to avoid looking like you're balding from the brows down.

While eyelash extensions offer an amazing "I-Woke-Up-Like-This" look, there are plenty of ways to keep your lashes looking amazing without draining your savings.

1. A lash lift

A lash lift, as you can see by this pic, can really open up your entire eye. It doesn't add any artificial lashes to your look, meaning there's nothing extra to irritate your eyes. Lash lifts use a combination of keratin and pads to curl your lashes and separate them to beautiful, defined lengths. The treatment can last up to 8 weeks (!!!) with no touch-ups and leaves you with a beautiful mascara-free look. Depending on where you go, it'll set you back anywhere from $60-80 per treatment.

2. A lash tint

Lash tints go hand in hand with lash lifts. The two combined really eliminates any need for mascara at all. A lash tint is as easy as it sounds, a simple procedure that tints your eyelashes, making them appear darker. This is a great service for people with lighter lashes, like blondes, or those with already long, curly lashes who'd just like more definition. Tints are super affordable at $15-20 per treatment, making them perfect for pre-vacation.

3. A lash serum

Though lash serums seem like they're all talk, some actually deliver with some seriously great results. Products like Latisse or Careprost can really get your lashes into great, long and dark shape. If you're coming off extensions, getting used to your natural lashes can be a big adjustment. Serums can help you get that lush natural lash you want without compromising on your lash health. You can grab an affordable one off of Amazon.

4. Organic Castor Oil

This organic oil is a well-known way to grow your lashes. It's absolutely amazing for conditioning your lashes so they grow nice and strong. The best way to apply castor oil is with a spooly that you can easily purchase at the dollar store (or snag for free from Sephora!). Dip the spooly into the castor oil like a mascara wand and coat your lashes before going to bed. Castor oil has been a known remedy for healthy eyelashes and eyebrows for alopecia patients, so you know it works!

5. A good old strip lash

You don't need to break the bank to get amazing lashes honey!! Sometimes, a good old strip lash can make you look just as glam for a FRACTION of the cost. To avoid sounding like an infomercial, I'll cut right to the chase. Kiss. Lashes. This brand is not only super affordable but accessible, too - I get mine at Walmart in a pack of 5 for about $12. If you're careful in removing the lashes (gently pressing eye-makeup remover on a q-tip at the lash band) you can totally re-use your pairs!
