On the bright side, they were nominated for quite a few Emmys this year and finally got the recognition they deserved. But to make this goodbye period easier on you, we've put together a few things you never knew about Schitt's Creek that will give you a whole new perspective when you watch the final season! The Show Was Filmed In Canada

The town the Roses called home is actually a small Canadian town just outside of Toronto. It's called Goodwood and only has a population of 600 people. You can still visit all the exterior set locations!

Goodwood Was Super Patriotic

The 600 residences of Goodwood loved being Schitt's Creek citizens every once and a while. They welcomed the cast and crew with open arms and would stand in as extra's sometimes when needed. They even named their towns baseball team after Schitt's Creek!

Literally, The Whole Cast Is Related

Okay, not the whole cast but three actors are! Eugene Levy and Dan Levy, also known and Johnny and David Rose and creators of the show, are IRL father and son. Not only that but Eugene Levy's other child, daughter Sarah Levy, plays Schitt's Creek's diner waitress, Twyla Sands.

A Production Company Was Created To Get The Show On-Air

Father and son, Eugene and Dan Levy, founded their own production company in order to produce Schitt's Creek themselves. It's called, Not a Real Company Productions.

Eugene Levy And Catherin O'Hara Have Worked Together Before 

Canadian legends Eugene Levy (Johnny Rose) and Catherine O'Hara (Moira Rose) have known each other since the 1970s. They were both members of a comedy group in Toronto where they were both featured on a sketch comedy called Second City Television.

You May Know Catherine O'Hara From Somewhere Else 

Kevin! Did that jog your memory? Catherine O'Hara is actually the mom from Home Alone and Home Alone 2: Lost in New York! That's right, she's a McAllister.
