Let's keep it real - everyone loves a little bit of drama in their life from time to time. Although you probably don't want to be fighting with your significant other or throwing insults at your enemies all the time, it is at least a little bit enjoyable to watch drama play out in other people's lives, particularly the lives of the rich and famous. Canadians have a reputation for being pretty easy-going, likable, and funny, but that doesn't mean we don't have our fair share of celebrity scandals and drama. Here are seven Canadian celebrity scandals that seriously shook the world.

Now, just because it's a "scandal" doesn't necessarily mean it's a bad thing. Some of the events on this list are actually super cute, some are so hilarious and bizarre that there's no way they could actually be true, and some of them are, unfortunately, tragic. Canada has seen some interesting things over the years, from apparent "cloning" of pop stars to fake pregnancy accusations, and that's just the beginning.

Make sure you have a bowl of popcorn and some tea nearby because you're going to need it while you dive deep into Canada's history of shocking celebrity scandals:

Datsik's Sexual Assault Accusations

Back in 2018, Kelowna-born EDM DJ Datsik suddenly found himself receiving multiple allegations of sexual assault from young women who had attended his shows, or that he had partied with. The DJ took some time off from the spotlight to reflect on his actions, and recently released a video explaining what he's been up to lately.

Justin Bieber's Pregnant Fan

Celebrity fans have been known to do some crazy things in the past, but back in 2011, Justin Bieber faced what might've been one of the craziest experiences of his life. When he was just 17-years old, one of Bieber's fans went public with a story that she had taken the pop star's virginity at one of his concerts, and that he was the father of her child. He even went on to write and sing a song about it called "Maria". The claims have since been disproven and Bieber is now happily married to Hailey Baldwin. You can listen to the song below.

Cory Monteith's Tragic Overdose

Calgary's Cory Monteith did an incredible job of his portrayal of Finn on Glee, but off-camera, the actor was battling some major demons. He began using drugs at the age of 13 and had received treatment for substance abuse throughout his life. In 2013, the actor once again checked himself into rehab, but just a few months later he was found dead in his Vancouver hotel room after mixing heroin and alcohol.

Shay Mitchell's Secret Pregnancy

Some may say that Kylie Jenner's pregnancy was one of the best-kept secrets of all time, but we would have to argue that that title actually belongs to Shay Mitchell. The Pretty Little Liars actress basically broke the internet when she released a photo showing off her baby bump, and now that her daughter has finally arrived, even more cute content is on the way.

Avril Lavigne's "Clone"

If you like to spend your time reading bizarre conspiracy theories, you may remember one that claimed Avril Lavigne died in 2003 and was subsequently replaced by a clone. According to believers, Lavigne had to have been replaced due to her choice to start wearing dresses. They also claim that her nose, autograph, and voice have all changed since the singer was in her prime.

Drake's Secret Kid

Not only did the Drake vs. Pusha T beef deliver us some killer diss tracks, but it also broke the shocking news that Drake is a father. After getting former adult-film star Sophie Brussaux pregnant, the 6ix god quietly supported her and his son Adonis until the news broke. Since then Drake has embraced the dad life, although he does keep his son pretty well hidden from the spotlight.

Matthew Perry's Struggle with Addiction

During his stint on Friends, Matthew Perry played the wise-cracking Chandler Bing, but behind the scenes, the actor struggled with substance addiction issues that were very hard on not only him but also his castmates. In recent years, Perry has stepped out of the spotlight, but his fans still worry and care about him very much.
