Becoming a professional athlete is no small achievement, so when two professional athletes date, they become the ultimate definition of a power couple.

With the Tokyo Olympics taking centre stage in the sporting world, and with many athletes posting regularly to their personal social media pages, it has given fans a peek inside their personal lives.

As originally reported by Narcity Quebec, between the painstaking hours training at the gym, these eight Olympic athletes have found love with people who have similar sporting goals.

Stéphanie Labbé and Georgia Simmerling

Olympic cyclist and skier Georgia Simmerling has found a keeper. That's right — she's been dating Canadian soccer goaltender Stéphanie Labbé for the past four years. They spent some time in the Olympic village in Tokyo together and Labbé posted a cheeky message on Instagram: "They aren't diamond but these rings will do for now."

Andre De Grasse and Nia Ali

Olympic medals are in the family for Canadian sprinter Andre De Grasse and his wife, Nia Ali. De Grasse won a gold and bronze medal in the men's 200-metre final and 100-metre final, respectively. In the 2016 Olympics in Rio, Ali won silver in the 100-metre hurdles event.

The couple welcomed a newborn in 2021, in addition to their daughter Yuri and Titus, Ali's son from a previous relationship.

Ariane Bonhomme and Jay Lamoureux

She's from Gatineau, Quebec; he's from Victoria, B.C., and they are both on Canada's track cycling team. Ariane Bonhomme and Jay Lamoureux, aged 26 and 25, have been in a relationship since 2017. Arianne recently posted: "Representing Canada at the Olympics was a dream come true. Thank you to everyone who supported me on this journey."

Jennifer Abel and David Lemieux

Love is in the air for diver and Olympic medalist Jennifer Abel and Montreal boxer David Lemieux. After dating for a few years, Lemieux proposed to Abel at the airport as she came back from the Tokyo Games.

Hugo Barrette and Kelsey Mitchell

Hugo Barrette and Kelsey Mitchell had the opportunity to experience the Tokyo 2020 Games together. The Quebecer and the Manitoban both compete in Team Canada's track cycling teams.

Jordyn Huitema and Alphonso Davies

This is THE power couple in the soccer world and they've been dating for four years. They both represent Canada in the men's and women's teams. Jordyn Huitema plays her soccer at Division 1 Feminine club Paris Saint-Germain, while Alphonso plays in the top German league for Bayern Munich.

They even have a YouTube channel called Jordyn & Alphonso where they give each other challenges.

Vincent Riendeau and Caeli McKay

She's from Alberta and he's from Quebec, but together they are part of Team Canada's diving teams. They have both shown a passion for diving since they were six years old. They first posted photos of themselves on social media in 2017.
