7 Super Exciting New Things Coming To Florida In 2020

There's so much to look forward to!

2019 was bursting at the seams with everything NEW. From new rides at pretty much every theme park, new interactive attractions, new places to eat, and even Publix is getting some crazy new updates! 2020 is shaping up to be just as exciting, and we’ve made a list of some mentionable new things coming to Florida that has us all looking forward to the new year.

From new events to an outdoor snow park (yes, in Florida!), to of course more theme park fun, the new year is sure to have something for everyone. So, mark your calendars, get your BFFs together, and get a head start on all the goodies coming to Florida in 2020.

Orca Encounter

When: January 2020

Why You Need To Go: SeaWorld has been working on revamping its ocra shows for some time now, and we'll finally get to see the result of that this year! In place of the entertainment show, this new version will be an educational show that focused more on orca behaviors within their pod and how they hunt in the wild. Read more about this here.

Disney's First-Ever Villains-Themed Wine & Dine Half Marathon

When: November 5 - 8, 2020

Why You Need To Go: Experience the park like you never have before, with the first-ever villain-themed half marathon. The race will feature a 5K, 10K, half marathon, and even a "Two Course" Challenge, where zealous runners can complete the 10K and half marathon in the same weekend. The New Organic Market and Interactive Bar At Publix

When: Late 2020

Why You Need To Go: While Publix eventually hopes to roll out these awesome new changes to all Florida Publix, this new location is super exciting with interactive zones like a tasting bar and wood-fired pizzeria, plus shopping carts that have holders for glasses of beer. Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway

When: March 4, 2020

Address: Walt Disney World Resort, Orlando, FL

Why You Need To Go: The first-ever Mickey Mouse-themed ride is coming to Disney World in 2020. It promises to be an immersive, multi-dimensional experience using state-of-the-art technology and the first-ever “2 ½-D” visual effects. Read more about this here.

Miami Dolphins Gondola

When: February 2020

Why You Need To Go: You can experience a whole new view of the Superbowl this year, rising above the field in a gondola built just for the Miami Dolphins fans just in time for the big game. The gondola is meant for entertainment purposes, giving a bird’s eye view of the crowds and even a beautiful view of the Miami skyline. Read more about this here.

Snowcat Ridge Alpine Snow Park

When: Currently scheduled to open November 2020

Why You Need To Go: So what if Florida doesn't get snow in the winter? That's not going to stop you from enjoying winter activities with the opening of this new snow park. At 60-feet tall and 400-feet long with snow tubing hills, you can build a snowman out of real snow, and sip hot cocoa by the fire at their Alpine Village. Read more about this here.


Icebreaker at SeaWorld

When: Spring 2020

Why You Need To Go: Icebreaker is Seaworld's newest ride attraction and first-ever launch coaster! The coaster will run backward and forwards and reach speeds of up to 52-mph. Did we mention it's going to be a backward launch? Yikes. Read more about this here.
