Struggling to find activities to keep the kids entertained during the last few weeks of summer vacation? There's an event coming to the GTA that will be plenty of fun for them and you!

Everyone's favourite storybook steam locomotive, Thomas the Tank Engine™, is chugging into the Uxbridge Train Station for two weekends of family fun starting this Friday!

Day Out With Thomas™ - The Steam Team Tour 2019 will give Thomas fans and their families the unique opportunity to climb aboard a heritage train pulled by a life-size working replica of Thomas the Tank Engine™ for a 25-minute train ride. After the ride, each child will receive a junior engineer certificate to take home with them.

Off the track, little engineers are invited to go full steam ahead for a day of engaging activities and fun adventures. Kids can meet and take a picture with Sir Topham Hatt™, the Controller of the Railway, and visit the Imagination Station for face painting, colouring activities, mega blocks, and temporary tattoos of Thomas™ or any of his engine friends!

Families can also enjoy Thomas™ storytelling and videos on-board the rules car, and re-create their favourite Thomas™ stories at the train tables located in the doors-open baggage car at Uxbridge Station.

Interactive live entertainment, a juggler on stilts, magicians, Zoo to You, a jumping castle, splash pad, and an obstacle course will also be available in addition to the Thomas™ replica ride-on trains and Thomas the Tank Engine™-related activities!

Children can spend a day with Thomas™ when the #1 Engine pulls into the Uxbridge Train Station on August 9-11 and 16-18 for The Steam Team Tour 2019. Trains depart roughly every hour between 9:00 AM and 3:45 PM. Tickets are $25.

The tour, now in its 24th year, will make 37 stops across Canada and the U.S. and is expected to welcome nearly one million passengers in 2019.

The York-Durham Heritage Railway Association, which helps to organize the event in Uxbridge each year, is a nonprofit organization that preserves and promotes the heritage of Canadian railways of South-Central Ontario. In addition to Day Out With Thomas™ - The Steam Team Tour, York-Durham Heritage Railway also has dinner trains, family trains, and kiddie-themed trains for holidays like Halloween and Christmas.
