Get ready foodies, this one is for you! A&W Canada has officially announced that they will be taking their legendary Beyond Meat burger one step further. According to the fast food restaurant, the fan-favourite Beyond Meat will be turned into a breakfast sausage and will be available to the public next month! Start counting down the days, your mornings are about to get a whole lot better (and healthier).
Last May, A&W first announced the creation of the now famous Beyond Meat burger. This meatless burger is gluten-free, soy-free, and made of non-GMO ingredients.
It was instantly a hit among everyone, including meat lovers for its almost scary meat-like flavour. Since it became such a big hit, A&W is taking it one step further by offering Beyond Meat breakfast sausages.
Earlier this morning, HGTV’s Love it Of List It Vancouver host and former ABC Bachelorette Jillian Harris confirmed this soon to be iconic breakfast sandwich. She and many others were VIP attendees of this Beyond Meat breakfast sausage launch hosted by A&W.
According to Harris, this new Beyond Meat Sausage and Egger will be the latest plant-based option on the menu. But the plant-based doesn’t stop there! A&W will also be offering a fully plant-based breaky with the beyond Meat Sausage and Veggie for those of you who don’t want to make modifications for a fully healthy option.
This “sausage” patty will be made from peas, brown rice, and mung bean protein. Through a seize son Instagram stories, Harris showed her audience what the beyond meat looked like and it really did look like a typical sausage patty.
Harris also stated that it feels and tastes just like meat with subtle saltiness and a little bit of fat, but in a good way. She also said that if she did not know it was plant-based she would have no way to tell.
According to Harris, this new breakfast option will be available to Canada starting March 11th. We couldn't be more excited!
