This Dreamy Garden In North Florida Has The Most Tranquil Scenery Perfect For A Midday Stroll

When an afternoon stroll involves a magical sunset and hundreds of flowers aplenty in a garden, then it turns into a dreamy voyage. Alfred B. Maclay Gardens State Park is a 1,176-acre botanical garden covered in floral architecture and rich in history.

This park is located in Tallahassee, a part known as Killearn Plantation Archeological and Historic District. The site features a picturesque brick walkway, reflection pool, secret garden, walled garden, and a floral architecture involving thousands of camellias and azaleas.

There are two nature trails overlooking the lake where you can enjoy cycling, hiking, and walking. Visitors are welcomed to fish, canoe, and swim around Lake Hall while enjoying this landscape masterpiece.

The Alfred B. Maclay Garden has 28-acre of scenic beauty with exotic plants. The camellias serve as the centerpiece of the garden and 60 varieties of azaleas create a dreamy scenery in mid-March.

If you are looking for a garden where you can get the best backdrop for pictures, this is the place. The live oaks and Spanish moss-laden branches offer a breathtaking landscape to the park.

According to Bruce, a Trip Advisor user "This is one of Tallahassee most beautiful and scenic parks."

The garden has a historic home that you can visit and you can bring your lunch to enjoy a picnic with a view. Whether you come with your family, your date or solo, this park offers an ideal setting to relax and wander around.

The park is open daily to the public from 8 a.m. until sunset. Entrance fee is $6 per vehicle.
