As Canadians, we don’t often get the chance to brag about our beaches. Sure, we can boast about our mountains and forested scenery, but as most of you are aware, we’re not exactly the go-to destination for fun-in-the-sun vacations. That belongs to you, Punta Cana.
Though while we may not have the nicest temperatures and sandiest coasts, there is one beach in Canada that is magical all year round. Botanical Beach, a natural gem on the shoreline of Vancouver Island, is a stunning strip filled with crystal tide pools.

What is a tide pool, you ask? Well, I wasn’t 100% sure either, so let me tell you what I found on good ole Google. A tide pool is a shallow pool of seawater that is formed on a rocky shore and only at low tide. If you look closely inside these things, you can find hundreds of different types of plants and animals. I like to call it an Inception Pool.
Nestled in Juan de Fuca Provincial Park, a rather recent addition to Vancouver Island, the stunning Botanical Beach is yet another major insta-worthy moment that British Columbia has to offer. What do you have to say about that, Punta?! As if you and your above 0 degrees weather is something to brag about . . .

As if the up-close and personal organisms aren’t cool enough, it’s also said that you can sometimes catch a Killer Whale swimming nearby. So what the hell - why not make a day trip out of this place?!
