An Ontario MP Just Admitted To Sending Naked Photos But It Turns Out That The Story Gets Even Worse

With the rise of the #MeToo movement in Hollywood, many other industries have seen the effects of a culture that is embracing women stepping forward about sexual misconduct at work. One of the work sectors getting just as much media attention as Hollywood is the political sphere.

This time, the latest news comes out of Muskoka, Ontario after a Conservative MP actually outed himself in a press release backed by the party just yesterday. Though it turns out there is a lot more to the story, according to local women in Muskoka.

Hon. Tony Clement noted in the release that for the last three weeks, he has "shared sexually explicit images and a video of [himself] to someone who [he believed] was a consenting female recipient." He later mentions in the letter that this woman revealed herself to be someone who purposely targetted him with the intent to financially extort him.

He goes on to say an RCMP investigation is currently being conducted but considering the nature of his job is a public figure, he felt it was best to come clean and step down before the woman was able to post anything.

While some Canadians find it admirable that Clement came clean about the situation early, it definitely got awkward towards the end of the press release when he began talking about his family. Publicly apologizing to them for "the needless pain and humiliation [his] actions have caused."

According to some users on Twitter, this isn't shocking news. Apparently Clement had a knack for following younger Canadian women on Instagram and liking their photos:

“Wow Tony Clement just followed me, liked 23 selfies from two years ago, and a photo of my dog for some reason?”“Yeah that’s Tony.”

Folks I should’ve known this would take off. I’ve had a long day, pease do not try to ask me about this just find literally any age 20-26 Canadian girl with a medium length haircut and check her recent selfies. Statistically, you’ll find what you seek.

We all knew. We allllllllllll knew. Though admittedly I wasn’t sure whether it was a “guitar dad learns the internet” or creepy creeper situation, and I often gave him the benefit of the doubt. I should so fucking know better by now. 🤦🏻‍♀️

For about a two year period he liked every picture of me, my dogs, my dinner...unless said photo featured my husband. I just always assumed a staffer manned his IG...because who has that kind of time?

Clearly, it was inevitable that Clement's confirmed and accused activities would get to the media at some point. While some people claim his resignation was premature, it does seem he got out before the situation could have gotten much worse.
