A little bit of sweet never hurt anyone - especially when its free. The next time you find yourself driving north on I-95, make a quick stop in Daytona Beach. Angell and Phelps Chocolate Factory offers free factory tours for visitors - and they are delicious.
This is one of the best roadside attractions you could do this summer. Not only you get a behind-the-scenes of the factory but also a taste of their specialty items. This chocolate shop has the best treats for your road trip including message bars, chips, pretzels, popcorn, sugar-free chocolate, non-chocolate gourmet snack candy and more.
This is the place where you will find dolphin-shaped chocolate and even car-shaped mini chocolate bars. The tour is completely free with free chocolate samples included.
Each guided tour lasts approximately 20 minutes and visitors will experience candy makers doing things the old-fashioned way. If your group is larger than 15 people it is recommended you call ahead of time to request a private tour.
Another great thing about this location is the free parking on site. So if you are road tripping around the east coast this summer, write this on your bucket list.
We're positive you will leave with some chocolate after the tour. After all, Angell and Phelps offer chocolate made with the finest ingredients. Go home with some of their specialty items such as truffle sampler, Angell and Phelps fudge, milk chocolate buckeyes, coconut patties, mini honeybee and more.
They just might convince you that chocolate is a vegetable.
