We all love our dogs and cats. They are up in our faces and business, and we wouldn't have it any other way. But what if we were to tell you that there's an animal sanctuary in Washington that'll allow you to get more cuddles from farm animals all day long? Before you say we've 'goata' be kiddin', prepare for the greatest cuddle of your life at the Sammamish Animal Sanctuary.
The farm is open daily from 8.30 a.m. to 5 p.m., and you can walk right in without any appointments. It's free to visit, but donations are appreciated and go toward veterinary care and food for the floofs on the farm.
The animal farm serves as a cozy and free-running abode to several cows, alpacas, goats, horses, donkeys, pigs, dogs, ducks, and sheep. The best part? They are all rescues and in this for some extra loving.
If there's one recommendation before you go here, it's this. — Bring a large bag of carrots, and notice how quickly you make some barn friends. They won't shy away from some crunchy lettuce or apples either.
Founded by Diane Gockel, a former high school teacher, this was her childhood dream, now materialized into a non-profit home for some serious carrot-chompers.
You can get close to the animals, wonder at how good their selfie game is, and stay for as long as you like.
There's also an opportunity to volunteer to be a feeder, cleaner, greeter or event planner at the 'Second Chance Ranch' if you're 16 or older.
Adopting a bunny or a horse is also a possibility. Should you become besties with one, you can sponsor them for a month or its whole life if you're unable to take them home. You decide, cuddles await.
