Do you remember the white and gold dress illusion that seemed to freak the entire world out in 2015? Our brain perceives things using information from our senses and sometimes it can play tricks on us. Super cool things to do in Atlanta this year include this immersive exhibit that lets you explore your physical and mental capabilities in a brand new light.
Prepare to have your mind completely blown at Fernbank Museum's Our Senses: An Immersive Experience because this interactive exhibition lets you explore the way your senses and perception work together.
The exhibit is organized by New York City's American Museum of Natural History and will open on February 8 and wrap up on May 3.
There are over 10 fully-immersive activities that engage hidden human sensory perceptions, unlocking the fascinating ways our brains and bodies operate both separately and as a whole.
You'll unveil sensations you may have never experienced as you activate your ability to interpret sight, sound, smell, taste, and touch in unconventional ways.
You can reveal hidden images that show how different things appear when illuminated in different colors; observe a garden through the eyes of a butterfly, use infrared technology to hunt prey; walk through a real-life optical illusion of dips and curves; activate your nerve-endings in the touch zone, and so much more.
This whole experience beats the whole "Laurel or Yanny" argument, although you will get to test your auditory skills.
You can attempt to recognize specific instruments within an orchestra and hear animal sounds that aren't typically detectable by the human ear.
You don't even have to pay for tickets to discover this biological wonderland because access is included in general admission to the museum ($20).
