It's no secret that Georgians love their alcohol, which is why any event that includes booze is always a big hit. There are countless beer, wine and spirits fests all over the state, but this one includes all three - and a lot if it. August is the hottest time of year here in the A. Summer is drawing the curtains in, so it's time to take advantage of some last minute boozy summer fun and cool off with a booze tour at this Atlanta wine and spirits festival.
The Atlanta Wine +Spirits Fest will be on Saturday, Aug. 24 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at The Promenade at Piedmont Park. Your golden ticket (AKA general admission) will get you four straight hours of samples from over 200 wines, beer and spirits from all over the world. It's rain or shine so grab your ponchos.
General admission tickets are only $49 and that includes an event souvenir glass, beverage samples, a passport brochure and a donation to the Piedmont Park Conservacy (see, all this drinking is for a good cause).
No pressure, though - if you aren't drinking, you can get the Designated Driver ticket, which includes event entry and water. There will be live music to set the vibes and, of course, lots of food to keep you on your feet.
You'll get to indulge in over 75 wines from different regions in the U.S. and around the globe including Italy, Germany, Mexico, Finland, Australia, France, Russia and more. If you want to keep the wine party going, you have to check out the Atlanta Rosé Festival in Atlanta this September.
In terms of spirits, you will get to sample craft cocktails made with Finlandia Vodka, ASW Distillery liquor, Herradura Tequila, Bacardi and Fever-Tree.
An added bonus is the beer garden supplemented with Georgia beers, because we have to support our local businesses, too. You'll find Terrapin, Sweetwater and New Realm brews here. Sierra Nevada and Truly will also be available. Grab your booze-loving friends and get your tickets quick before you get FOMO.
