The holiday season is one of the most popular times during the year for pet adoptions. Many people's dream is to wake up on Christmas morning to a cute pup or dog that was saved from the pound. This animal shelter is having free pet adoptions in Georgia until the end of the year and it's the perfect time to adopt.
Gwinnett County Animal Shelter wants to find all the animals that currently live in the shelter their forever homes. Your adoption fee will be waived, which is an even better reason to adopt right now.
If you're not looking to adopt, you're more than welcome to donate to the shelter if you are wanting to help out in any way this season.
The shelter held an event like this back in November and it was such a success, they decided to bring it back this month. Finding homes for each and every animal is the goal of every shelter, so why not make it easier for people to adopt?
Just to make this even better, all of the animals are spayed and neutered before they leave the facility, they will be microchipped, have all the necessary vaccinations and have a medical workup to make sure they're ready to go.
Right now, there are 106 animals that call Gwinett County Animal Shelter their home. Hopefully, that number will diminish greatly by the end of the year.
Instead of just donating money, you can also donate things off of the shelter's wishlist. There are things they are asking for like newspapers, treats and canned food.
On Mondays through Thursdays, adoption hours are from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and open only until 4:00 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, and the shelter is closed on Sundays. If you're in the market for a new furry friend, now is the time to bite the bullet and adopt.
