Seafood is one of those things that can be enjoyed anytime of year, but there's something extra special about all that lemon pepper and Old Bay seasoning that just feels right in the fall. Georgians love a reason to get together and eat, but if we can do that for free, it's pretty much goals. Well, next month's Georgia Seafood Festival may be the ticket you've been waiting for. This is the ultimate thing to do in Atlanta this November if you're looking for your own seafood paradise.
Georgia Seafood Fest 2019 is a celebratory gift from Atlanta's own Fresh District. Fresh District is an Atlanta organization focused on hosting food-centered events that emphasize sourcing locally grown, fresh produce and meats. What better way to get a message out than to host huge events with music and all the fun? On Nov. 9, Sunset Park will be filled with food vendors and guests who want to stuff their bellies with the best of the best of the sea.
This event will have over 20 vendors who are bringing amazing foods, local goods and educational activations from all across Georgia.* Amateur and professional chefs will be competing in a Compete Wells Cooking Competition where TV Chef Jernard Well will give away a $100,000 Golden Ticket for a chance to compete at the 2020 World Food Championships.
There will be games, live music (San Abri and DJ Hershey)* and cocktails all day. You'll be able to drink while sampling amazing shrimp, crabs, lobster, fish and more. To sample food different foods and have a drink to wash it all down, you have to purchase the Hungry Sailor package.* The highlighted seafood of the festival will be Georgia Wild Shrimp and you're not going to want to miss that. It's going to be a seafood heaven.
The general ticket to attend is absolutely free. Yes, you can sample, eat and enjoy all the shrimp you want for the free (drinks not included), but you can upgrade to a VIP ticket to maximize your fun.
A VIP ticket covers swag, two drink tickets, free parking (and we know how important that is in this city) and exclucive seating to specialty tastings and chef competitions.* That may be worth the $100 if you want to make the most of the experience.
If you're in a food-loving mood, you have to try this new cajun restuarant in Atlanta that will definitely have all of your southern faves. For more festival fun, definitely checkout this crazy Caribbean festival coming to Georgia next year.
