Atlanta Is Having A Massive German Christmas Market This Winter

Get a slice of Germany right here in Atlanta.
This Christmas Event In Atlanta In November Is So Massive It Moved To A Bigger Venue

Halloween is at the forefront of everyone's mind, but with the way time is moving, it'll be Christmas in no time. The holiday that trumps all holidays is just a mere two months away, so it's time to get your calendar situated on what moves to make to celebrate the jolliest time of year. This adorable Christmas event in Atlanta is back and it's bigger and better than ever.

The Atlanta Christkindl Market is at a brand new venue this year, meaning there's room for even more holiday cheer. Instead of being boxed into Atlantic Station, German festivities will take over Centennial Olympic Park from Nov. 21 until Christmas Eve.

The market doubles as a festival, so you'll be surrounded by authentic German everything, from music, entertainment, architecture, food, and vendors. You'll literally feel like you're walking the streets of Bavaria.

One of the main reasons that people come out to "Christkindlmarkt" is the mouthwatering food. You can pick up a variety of authentic German street food like bratwurst, pretzels, and gingerbread and wash it down with the finest German beer.

While you're stuffing your face, it's also the perfect time to stock up on Christmas gifts for all your family and friends. You can come bearing the most beloved traditional goodies like nutcrackers, wooden novelties, candle arches and snow globes. You can save money on a plane ticket and get your family a gift straight from Germany, Austria, or Switzerland at the market.

Similar to the largescale Christmas markets in Europe, you'll be surrounded by German tunes and entertainment inspired by the eclectic region. Expect tons of dancing, like ballet and clogging.

There are so many photo ops, but the greatest one will be in front of the massive Christmas tree that towers over you. The ornaments are as big as your head and it stands gloriously at 50-feet tall.

The grand opening celebration is Nov. 21 at 6 p.m. If you're a Christmas and winter junkie, you'll also want to mark your calendars for this ugly Christmas sweater party and snowboard competition at Suntrust Park.
