The opening of Sugar Factory in Georgia has been in limbo for a few months, but we can finally say YES! If you've craved getting your hands around the huge goblet drinks or are ready to share a 12-person sundae, your dreams are about to come true. Sugar Factory will host its grand opening Sept 27 and have the multi-million dollar comedian, Nick Cannon, DJ the celebration.
Sugar Factory is one of those franchises that you hear about, see pictures of, but always seemed so far away (like Hogwarts). The Atlanta location will be properly placed in the middle of Midtown at 1080 Peachtree Street NE.
The location is already setting out to be one of the largest locations for the restaurant with two-stories covering 8,000 square-feet. The location will have indoor seating for over 200 people and outdoor dining for about 60; a full-service cafe and bar; a retail store and confectionary shop to buy all the sugary goodies and merch and a private dining room.
The outdoor area also has a 12-seater patio facing and overlooking 12th Street so you can get the perfect view of the Midtown skyline. While all of that is cool, the highlight of the location will be the specially-made Gummy Bears Chandelier that will hang in the main dining room.
If you know anything about Sugar Factory, you know they do dessert in ways that are straight out of cotton-candy dipped dreams. The biggest and most photographed dessert is the "King Kong Sundae" that feeds 12 people. The sundae has 24 scoops of ice cream (your choice) doused in sprinkles, gummy bears, caramel, donuts, twinkies, fudge sauce and giant swirly candy pops. You can even add sparklers if you really want the party to pop.
If ice cream and fried dough are not your thing, you must try the goblet drinks that you will definitely need two hands to pick up. The fantasical 64 oz. alcohol-infused drinks are served with smoking candy, candy necklaces and bracelets, sour candy ropes, crystal rock candy and more.
You don't want to miss the grand opening with Nick Cannon on the one's and two's. The rapper turned MTV show star turned philanthropist is scheduled to perform at 10 p.m. so make sure you show up for this performance.
Sugary Factory will be open Sundays through Thursdays from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.
