Get your fangs ready, Texas, because the state will be home to the undead for a whole weekend in March. And yes, boozy bloody-like pouches will be part of the fun too. Austin is hosting a Nosferatu inspired horror festival next spring to honor the iconic character! You cannot miss the somber fun, so get out of your coffin and head on over.
Get ready to feel cheerful among other old-school horror fans at this cool event. The Second Annual Nosferatu Festival will be happening March 6-8, and the venue will be Come and Take It Live, at 2015 E. Riverside Dr.
Festival-goers will enjoy spectacles from original artwork to movie screenings and costume contests, so get your Living Dead outfit on point for the occasion. You will also have access to some exclusive Nosferatu merchandise and more.
The 1922 silent film is a celebrated cult horror classic directed by F.W. Murnau, considered one of Germany's top silent-era filmmakers. The screenplay was based on Bram Stoker's Dracula, where all the fascination for vampires first started.
Get ready to not only celebrate Nosferatu but to embrace all things vampire in Austin. Are you feeling bloodthirsty yet?
The first Nosferatu Festival was a total success, so organizers are ready for more next spring. How about you?
Everything will start with a Kick-Off Party at Kick Butt Cafe on March 6 from 8:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. You can get free access with a VIP Pass, and if you have a weekend pass to the event, you pay only $5 in advance or $10 at the door.
The general admission ticket for the event is $25 if you buy it as an early bird, and if you'd like to go VIP, you'll pay $50. Check for details here.
The festival will celebrate 98 years since the movie Nosferatu was first released on March 4, 1922. The fest will feature a whole weekend of live music (lineup TBA), performances, merch, oddities and art vendors, carnival-style games, movie screenings, photo ops, and so much more.
They will also be having vamp-style food and beverages, and costumes are highly encouraged, not only for fun but because organizers will unofficially try and break the world record for most people dressed as vampires.
If you are a die-hard fan of spooky things or if you love the cinematic masterpiece that is Nosferatu, come to this fest with your friends. All cultures and subcultures are welcome — alive and undead alike.
