This Boozy Garden Near Austin Has Llamas & Hammocks With Incredible Views
There's no arguing with the fact that llamas are one of the cutest animals out there. Second to dogs, maybe. For those who live near Austin, hanging out with llamas in a beer garden while sipping on booze (added bonus) is actually possible, and it's just a short drive away from being your evening plans.
The Shady Llama is located in Wimberley, Texas, which is just under an hour drive from Austin, and a little over an hour from San Antonio. If you're in either major city, you're in luck because The Shady Llama has everything you could need from one place. Llamas, donkeys, beer, wine, and delicious food trucks! Plus, incredible views of the Texas Hill Country.
Now that the fall season is finally here, the hours at The Shady Llama have been adjusted accordingly. Monday, Thursday and Friday they're open from 4 to 9 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday they're open from 12 to 9 p.m.
Their personal bar is always open when they are, and the food trucks they have on-site vary! Their website has plenty of info on this and even a calendar with when each food truck will be there. The owners of the joint simply ask for no outside alcohol or coolers to be brought in, and only well-behaved dogs on leashes are allowed.
The Shady Llama has plenty of seating for you and your friends to choose from, including hammocks. Sitting on one of these will give you breathtaking views of the Texas Hill Country and some seriously awesome pics.
