Avril Lavigne Forced To Cancel The Rest Of Her Europe Tour Due To Coronavirus

This comes a week after cancelling the Asia leg of tour.

Things just got a little complicated for this singer. Avril Lavigne's tour in Europe was just cancelled because of the coronavirus. This is the second leg that has been called off due to the epidemic.

Earlier today, the Belleville born singer announced on Instagram that the 14 stops left in Europe and the UK on the Head Above Water World Tour have been cancelled.

She was set to visit cities including Milan, Amsterdam, Paris, Berlin, and London.

Lavigne already held concerts in Brussels and Zürich earlier this month but the rest of the stops as of March 15 scheduled to end on April 7 will not be going as planned.

In her heartfelt message, Lavigne wrote, "As you all are aware, governments across Europe have continued to impose restrictions banning large public gatherings because of the continued spread of the coronavirus. Now the United States of America has implemented its own travel ban. With these restrictions in place, it means that I am no longer able to bring the Head Above Water Tour to Europe and the United Kingdom. And it sucks!"

She continued, "I have been looking forward to this tour for so long. For the opportunity to reconnect with my amazing, supportive fans. My main concern continues to be your health and safety and I want to come back and rock out with you at another time when everyone can enjoy the shows without worry. Sending you all so much love".

Just last week, the "Girlfriend" singer announced that the Asia dates on tour would be postponed due to COVID-19 as well.

It's especially important for her to take precautions surrounding the illness since she is battling Lyme disease

Lavigne's sixth headline tour began in North America in September 2019. She had one Canadian stop in Toronto on October 6 where she had an incredibly emotional concert involving her cousin proposing to his girlfriend while on stage.

The tour is meant to promote her sixth studio album of the same name.

There is no rescheduled date yet for her concerts in Asia or Europe.
