On their official Instagram account, the Duke and Duchess shared two photos, one a family picture including Prince William and Kate, Prince Charles and Camilla, Meghan Markle's mother, and Princess Diana's sisters. The second picture is more intimate, in black and white. It shows Prince Harry and Meghan holding each other while gazing at their adorable baby boy. It's a true picture of love.
In the accompanying caption, the Royals say, "This morning, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s son, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor was christened in the Private Chapel at Windsor Castle at an intimate service officiated by the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are so happy to share the joy of this day with members of the public who have been incredibly supportive since the birth of their son. They thank you for your kindness in welcoming their first born and celebrating this special moment."
They go on to provide more details about the christening itself, saying, "Their son, Archie, was baptised wearing the handmade replica of the royal christening gown which has been worn by royal infants for the last 11 years."
According to the caption, the original gown that the design was based on had been commissioned by Queen Victoria in 1841. The replica that was worn by Archie was commissioned by Queen Elizabeth II in 2004 in order to keep the tradition alive.
This isn't the first image that has been shared of Baby Archie, but it is the very first one fully showing his face. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have previously wished to have privacy for their son.
