These 13 Best Selling Beauty Products Are Totally Worth The Hype

If you're looking for a sign to treat yourself, this is it.

I'll be the first to admit that I'm a shopaholic. Whenever I hear about a new eyeshadow palette, or face mask, or highlighter being released, I want to go out and buy it ASAP. Unfortunately, because I'm also a broke student, that's not always possible.

What I've found to be a helpful trick is to start reading or watching reviews of the products I want to buy, before I actually investing in them. In hindsight, doing this earlier probably would've saved me a ton of money on products that sounded great, but weren't actually worth the hype (or the cost).

To make things a little easier, I've done some research for you and found some seriously hyped up products (a lot of which I've actually tried myself) and given you the low down on whether they're worth splurging or not!

Next time you've got some cash to spare, and you want to treat yourself pick up one of these amazing products, and see what wonders they work on your beauty routine:

Benefit They're Real Mascara

Price: CAD $32

This is actually one of the first high end mascara I purchased back in the day, and I wasn't disappointed at all. Usually when you're purchasing a mascara, you have to choose between volume, length, or long-wear, but They're Real has it all, and will seriously have people asking you if your lashes are real or not.

Mario Badescu Drying Lotion

Price: CAD $22.86

 @thebeautyhunterblogembedded via

If you follow any major beauty gurus or celebrities, odds are good that you've seen, or at least heard of, Mario Badescu. I have yet to try any of the products myself, but all the raving reviews have me ready to place an order. The Drying Lotion is supposed to be a super effective spot treatment; all you have to do is dab a bit on your whiteheads, blackheads, or under the skin bumps overnight and you'll be as good as new in the morning!

RevitaLash Advanced Eyelash Conditioner

Price: CAD $74.21

 @lashboutiquecapecodembedded via

If you're like me, and will do pretty much anything to get your lashes to grow, you need to invest in RevitaLash. My natural lashes are definitely not as long as I wish they were, and they're blonde, so I pretty much always have to wear mascara or falsies. This product promises you fuller, thicker lashes after just six weeks of use, so you can skip the extensions or falsies!

St. Tropez Self-Tan Bronzing Mousse

Price: CAD $42

 @sttropeztanembedded via

I'm generally a pretty pale person, so I definitely went through a fake tanning phase years ago. During this time I tried about a million fake tan products, and spend a lot of time looking like a cheeto. I guess it was all worth it though, because now I can tell you that 100%, St. Tropez is pretty much the best fake tan product I've found on the market. It's long-lasting, and applies without much hassle, as long as you've prepped your skin properly!

The Original Makeup Eraser

Price: CAD $24

 @missdomteambeautyembedded via

Finding a good makeup remover can be hard, I've tested dozens and I'm still not 100% satisfied. The MakeUp Eraser sounds like the perfect solution, though! This super cute little cloth can remove your makeup with just water, and doesn't burn or dry out your skin like some other makeup removing products do!

NARS Natural Radiant Longwear Foundation

Price: CAD $60

 @nicobeauty_embedded via

When you're spending $60 on foundation, you definitely expect it to work some serious magic, and NARS Natural Radiant Longwear Foundation never fails to impress. The formula lasts all day long without weighing you down or making you feel matte or cakey; it's perfect for anyone who loves high coverage in the summer!

Living Proof Restore Shampoo

Price: CAD $79.63

 @livingproofincembedded via

I have naturally wavy, coarse hair, and at times it seems almost impossible to deal with. I've tried a ton of different shampoos, but at the end of the day my hair still gets frizzy and mats together. I recently was advised to try the Living Proof brand and it seriously helped me so much. It's super lightweight, doesn't weigh down your hair, and keeps it looking healthy! Definitely worth every penny.

Fenty Beauty Invisimatte Blotting Paper

Price: CAD $20

 @pinkkblossom__embedded via

If you don't already own blotting paper, you need to get some ASAP, before the serious summer heat hits. The beauty of blotting paper is that it gets rid of any excess oil/sweat/grease on your face, without removing any of your makeup! You'll never be wondering if it's sweat or highlight, ever again. The best part about the Fenty Beauty blotting paper is that the packaging is super cute, and it looks like a lipstick!

Elizavecca Milky Piggy Carbonated Bubble Clay Mask

Price: CAD $10

 @danicadelossantosembedded via

These bubble masks have been a huge Korean skincare trend for quite some time, but now they're taking over Western skin care and it seems like everyone wants to try them! The Elizamecca Milky Piggy mask has nearly 3,500 five star reviews on Amazon, and skin care fanatics everywhere have been raving about it; if we haven't already convinced you, it's only $10.

Huda Beauty Desert Dusk Eyeshadow Palette

Price: CAD $85

 @makeupaddicttamembedded via

This palette may be pricey, but it contains all the shades you'll need to create a unique stunning look every day this summer! The palette is also incredibly versatile, containing four different formulas, including matte, pressed pearl, duo-chrome, and pure glitter.

Kat Von D Everlasting Lip Liner

Price: CAD $22

 @happiness_beautyembedded via

Lip liner has become all the rage over the years, especially for those of us who can't afford or don't want to commit to lip fillers. Kat Von D has an amazing shade range, it also has a great formula that won't smudge or smear throughout the day!

Velour Lashes

Price: CAD $24 - $34

 @velourlashesofficialembedded via

Since I discovered these lashes a few months ago, they've become my holy grail. I don't have one bad thing to say about them. They may be a bit expensive, but you're definitely getting what you pay for. As long as you take proper care of them, you can wear the lashes multiple times, and they come in all sorts of shapes and sizes, from natural to over-the-top glam!

Farsali Rose Gold Elixr

Price: CAD $67

 @merakiboutique16embedded via

This product almost broke the Internet, literally. Everyone on Instagram was going crazy for the Farsali Rose Gold Elixr, which is packed with all sorts of vitamins and nutrients. The product is full of little gold flecks and can be used as a hydrator, primer, and highlighter!
