Bianca Andreescu Wrote Fake Winning Cheques To Herself As Motivation To Win US Open

Bianca Andreescu said she has been using the law of attraction since she was 12, and believes it influenced her U.S. Open win on Saturday. She says she wrote herself a winning cheque when she was really young and visualized her victory before it became a reality. Bianca Andreescu credits her mom with teaching her about manifestation. It was in an interview with Good Morning America's Robin Roberts that Bianca revealed her strategy.

"So, I've been visualizing ever since I was 12 or 13 when my amazing mother introduced me to it," said Bianca in the interview on Sept. 9. "I find it very helpful. I think it's one of the most powerful tools that we have, our minds. I believe that we create our reality with our mind. So ever since then, I've been picturing myself holding that trophy. I actually wrote myself a cheque of this tournament," she said to a stunned Roberts. "For it to actually become a reality is just crazy," she added.

The 19-year-old tennis champion said she kept increasing the amount of the fake cheques she would write to herself.

"I could definitely get used to this feeling. I'm not done yet," she said in the interview. She has been playing tennis since the age of 7. It is not all visualization though. Her victory has come with lots of hard work as well. Sportsnet reports that she will be back to training again as early as next week, with her eye on the Beijing Open.

She also told The View that the crowd was overwhelmingly in support of Serena during that match. Bianca said she was proud of the way she was able to stay focused and tune them out for the most part. This is a quality of someone who is well versed in meditation.
