This Hidden Garden In Georgia Is Blooming 3,000 Japanese Maples For The Fall Season

Georgians are normally very "eh" about the fall and winter seasons since we love our hot and extra long summers. Even though we don't get to see a full blown autumn too often, when we do, we love to take advantage. This season, a popular botanical garden in Georgia is giving us the fall color schemes we deeply love and desperately need.
Gibbs Gardens in Balls Ground, Georgia is the little hidden secret that's growing to being the best known secret for nature lovers. The 200-acre woodlands is home to a brilliant mixture of trees and flowers native and exotic to Georgia. As Mother Nature does her thing, the land changes each season and gifts of with beautiful colors pallets.
This season, Gibbs Gardens is blessings Georgians yet again with another burst of color. Starting Oct. 25 through Nov. 17, the land will host a new mix of fall colors. The Japanese Maples Colorfest is a majestic introduction of maple trees, dogwoods, crape myrtle and complementing flowers and plants to the land. The Japanese maples are planted by the hundreds each year and irrigated weekly to ensure the maximum color pop for the fall season, as told by their website.
This season, guests can look forward to over 3,000 Japanese maples and over 200 complementing varieties on the Gibbs' land. Owner Jim Gibbs adds more to his growing collection each year, to guarantee various shades of oranges and reds for the late autumn.
The best part of the Japanese Maples Colorfest is the price tag. You can see these amazing colors up close (and take all the bomb selfies) for only $20.
If you're not much of a walker you can enjoy the views from the comfort of a seated position by riding the Garden's tram for only $5 more. This is such a relaxing fall day activity, we might have to take a trip their ourselves this weekend!
