9 Things To Do In Calgary When You're Bored And All Your Friends Are Busy
We've all been there.
More often than not, it seems like whenever I'm actually down to leave my house and do something fun, all of my friends are "busy". I use the term "busy" loosely, because I'm an extrovert who thrives on social interaction, and most of them are introverts who are most content sitting at home.
There's really no shame in that though, it just means I've had to adjust, and learn what I can do around YYC to have fun by myself. If we're being honest, I hate doing anything by myself, but everything on this list is something I might actually consider doing solo.
Next time you're in the mood to go out, and all your friends are busy, we've got you covered:
Treat yourself to some of Calgary's best
One thing that will always make you feel better when you're lonely is a sweet treat, and Calgary happens to have some of the best places.
Grab a coffee and read your favourite book in a
Especially with a busy school year coming up, you'll want to find the perfect spot to get your studying done instead of sitting in the library all year.
Do somethingto remind yourself why you love Calgary
Visit the Calgary Tower, or spend a day wandering around the Zoo or Telus Spark. These activities can be just as fun done solo, as they are when done with somebody else.
Treat yourself to a nail day at one of
There's nothing more relaxing than a day of pampering. Calgary is lucky enough to be full of super talented nail artists, all of whom will keep your manicure on point.
Take a walk through Prince's Island Park
There's no shame in going for a solo stroll. I find that walking is one of the best ways to clear your mind is to go for a walk. Prince's Island is the perfect place because it's got great views.
Soak up the sun at Sikome Lake while it's still warm
Pack a towel, your favourite book, and some sun screen, and enjoy a relaxing day in the sand. It may not be Cuba, but it's close enough.
Visit the Glenbow Museum
The Glenbow is one of those places in Calgary that always has something going on. Admission is only $5, and they currently have some really cool exhibits, including one about the Impact of the Graphic Novel.
Go people watching in Downtown Calgary
Downtown Calgs is the perfect spot for people watching. Never have I ever been downtown without experiencing something that leads to a funny story to tell later on.
Treat yourself to a shopping day at one of Calgary's many malls
I find that shopping is often best done alone; you don't have to wait for anyone, or give your opinions. You can take your sweet time, and spend your money on whatever you want.
