There's always a flurry of activities and winter fun in the lead up to Christmas. Immediately after, in January, there doesn't seem to be much to do! It's a quiet, lulling period where we're all supposed to get back into the swing of life. With Christmas come and gone, it seems like we're entering a long stretch of not much happening.

Luckily for us, there's still plenty of time to appreciate winter in all its shimmery and cold glory. In January, the Albertan town of Jasper bursts with fun with its Jasper in January Festival. From concerts and winter sports to food and wine events, there's plenty to do to keep you pumped as you enter 2019. One event you definitely can't miss out on is Jasper's horse-drawn sleigh ride!

This January, you can take a sleigh ride complete with horses and jingle bells. Each trip lasts for about 40 minutes and takes you along the frozen Pyramid Lake. You can snuggle up under a warm blanket as you enjoy the charm of the horses and the magical winter wonderland surrounding you. This is a seriously adorable and even romantic activity you will want to share this classic winter experience with your S/O or besties.

Walking around the shores of Pyramid Lake, there are so many opportunities for gorgeous photos of the winter scene. With the stunning peaks of the Rocky Mountains as the backdrop, this is definitely the most Canadian place to spend a sunny winter's day! Plus, if you love ice skating, Pyramid Lake is excellent even for hockey games.

There are a ton of amazing events happening in Jasper this January! If you want to catch this fun sleigh ride, then check out their event page for more details. This might be one of your last chances to get in on a magical sleigh ride because before you know it, Winter will thaw out into Spring again and you'll have to wait until next year!
