Food tours have really taken off in popularity recently and I couldn't be happier! Even though they might not be cheap, you get a chance try so many different dishes, flavours, vendors and restaurants that make the splurge totally worth it for foodies. You also get to go behind-the-scenes, meet the chefs, and learn more about what goes into the food you eat!
At the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel in Alberta, they're offering a unique Eat the Castle food tour that's a must-try! This luxurious experience takes you to all the best venues inside the castle for tastings and treats. You'll get the royal treatment on this food tour and special insider access to the best that this majestic castle has to offer!
The tour kicks off with a welcome drink inside the main lobby of the castle where you'll try the housemade sourdough and house-smoked meats. You'll be taken to the Vermillion Room for a tasting of fine French Brasserie-style food and drink. Then, you'll be brought into the cave-like cellar of grapes for an intimate charcuterie experience. Finally, if you have been saving room, you'll be brought to the hotel's signature restaurant, the 1888 Chop House.
You'll get a chance to learn more about the castle and its history as you wander through its many rooms in a small group and enjoy lots of food and beverage pairings. The best part of the tour will be the hands-on experience with one of the Castle's resident culinary masters. Plus, the whole tour takes place inside the castle so you won't be out in the cold rushing from place to place!
You can join in the Eat the Castle food tour every Thursday from 3:30 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. at the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel. The tour is $175 per person and it includes all taxes and gratuities for the Fairmont staff.
