It happens more often than you'd think. You're at the library studying, or at home watching Netflix, or exploring downtown Edmonton, and you're hit with a sudden need to stuff your face right this instant, or you will die - this, is hanger at it's finest. Anyone who's experienced the emotion of 'hangry' knows that it's definitely one of the least pleasant things a person can experience.
Not only is your stomach grumbling, but your attitude is also rapidly increasing by the second. You're suddenly ridiculously grumpy, and if you don't get your hands on some food right away, anyone who gets in your way will have to face your wrath. Those Snickers commercials summed it up perfectly when they said, "You're not you when you're hungry."
Some people are lucky enough to have seemingly endless amounts of cash to drop on food, but the majority of us are not so lucky. If you're like me, and living the cheap, student lifestyle, you'll know that cheap eats are your best friend. As much as I'd love to be able to spend $30 on an authentic Italian pizza, you already know I'll sooner be dropping $10 on a Domino's pizza because they have the university discount hookups.
Next time you find yourself hangry in Edmonton, don't sweat it. We've found some of the best cheap eats that the city has to offer, so that you don't have to be hangry, and none of your friends abandon you because of your attitude problem.
