I recall many a magical December night driving around suburban neighbourhoods to see houses, yards and even roofs decked out in holiday lights. Full, glowing plastic snowmen and Santa Claus would dot the snow-covered lawns and sparkling icicle lights hanging from the eaves were pure magic. Some houses would even blast Christmas music or have giant blow-up characters and cut-outs in front!

You can relive holiday memories like those at this drive-through holiday lights experience at Castrol Raceway near Edmonton. This event takes place in two Canadian cities this year, in both Edmonton and Ottawa. Drive through the unforgettable tunnel of lights on your way to seeing more holiday displays, animations and characters come to life with lights.

The Canadian Tire Magic of Lights is a magical two-kilometre route where you can enjoy twinkling holiday lights from the warmth of your own car. This event is perfect for people who want to get in the holiday spirit without freezing.

It should take you about 20 minutes to drive through the whole route, so it’s easy to squeeze into your schedule even on a busy weekday night! For an elevated experience, try the new horsepower hayride. You just seriously bundle up, climb aboard an open-air trailer and snuggle under the blankets as you’re pulled by a pick-up truck through the route!
