If you are lucky enough to have a group of friends who never flop on you, consider yourself to be blessed. Hold on to them tightly, because the rest of us are out here struggling to make plans with our crew. Of course, it's not always their fault; life, school, work, family, and a million other things will always get in the way, and sometimes, there's nothing you can do about it. As long as there's always a valid excuse for flopping, your friends are worth forgiving.
Maybe it's because I'm so extroverted, but I hate doing things alone. I'll literally call up my best friend to go grocery shopping with me so I don't have to go by myself sometimes. Any university student knows how busy this time of year is with midterms, papers, finals, and what not, so I've had to learn to get over myself and start doing things solo while my friends are grinding.
For some, going to the bar alone might seem weird or uncomfortable, but realistically, it's the perfect opportunity to socialize and make new friends. Who is more friendly than drunk girls in a bathroom? Absolutely no one. If you're not quite ready to go by yourself, you can always start by checking out one of Edmonton's many landmarks and museums, or even attend an event or a festival for something you've always been interested in by yourself.
