Lonsdale Avenue Will Be Transformed Into A Massive 1,000-Foot Water Slide This Summer

Count us in!

Summer time is upon us, and with it comes endless festivals and events right here in Vancouver!

Zoom all the way back to your childhood on this giant water slide that will be taking over lower Lonsdale Avenue for two entire days as part of North Vancouver's Car Free Day festivities.

Do you remember back in the day when you would play in slip-and-slides in your front or backyard? This is exactly that, except all dressed up and with a block party included.

The travelling 1000-ft long slip-and-slide will be returning once again for two days this summer, where sliders can go down the hill in giant inner tubes, where there will be a large finish line splash pool.

Thousands of people will also be in attendance watching by the sidelines and at the finish line to watch sliders go down the roadway at up to 15km per hour!

Slide the City is a family-friendly event with live music, food, drinks, water, and of course the largest street water slide - that's right, it holds a world record.

The slide will be open from 10 AM to 5 PM on July 21 and 22, and riders must be at least five years of age and over 46 inches tall.
