But thank the lawds for these restaurants, cafes, and snack bars that are saving our emaciated wallets at their times of need. And we thought, well, why not take the cheapest food joints we know and put it on a map you can follow from start to finish?

Just when you thought all vegan food items had to be expensive, Vegan Pudding & Co. has come to your rescue. Their super delicious organic dairy free, egg free, soy free, gluten free, AND nut free pudding is only $3.85. And even if you add their special sauce and vegan whipped cream, it's still only $5.75. $1.50 grilled cheese? Yup! A humble little snack bar hidden inside the Army and Navy in Gastown serves some of the yummiest, and the cheapest grilled cheese sammies in the city. Drop by and maybe even do a little thrifting.

8. Hi Five Grilled Cheese // 30 E Cordova St.

And more grilled cheese! A little pricier than Jack's, but when $1.50 is your starting price, a little more goes a long way. Literally just a window on the side of the Van Horne Building is Hi Five Grilled Cheese, offering Gastown's late night weekenders the greasiest grilled cheeses that are sure to cure your drunk hunger.
