This Popular Street In Vancouver Is Closing Off For A Huge Festival
Join in the festivities!
This summer, this popular street in East Vancouver will be going entirely car-free for an amazing community celebration!
The 15-block long festival will feature amazing local artisans, vendors, and community groups, as well as delicious food and loads of entertainment and activities for people of all ages.
Commercial Drive is a creative and eclectic neighbourhood, with tons of unique shopping, food, and entertainment spots - and a huge amount of heritage history. Now in its 14th year (the festival began in 2005), the annual Car Free Day Commercial Drive Festival is gearing up for a day of community fun!
For all of the activities available on the day, be sure to head to the festival’s website to find out more!
The festival will be held on Commercial Drive on July 8th from noon until 7 PM - with several other major streets in Vancouver doing the same in the following weeks.
Of course, in keeping up with festivities, it is highly encouraged that attendees either walk, bike, or transit to Car Free Day’s festivities - Translink generously re-routes the Commercial Drive bus nearby on the festival day. There are so many ways to get to the festival car-free, so make sure you do so!
