This BC Hike Leads To A Secret Swing With The Most Breathtaking Views
Look at that view!
One of the best things about living in British Columbia is the ability to venture a few hours out of the Downtown area and discover an abundance of hikes and trails, all with spectacular views.
Now, what better way to relax and enjoy the stunning views than on a swing atop a mountain?
Truly a hidden gem of Vancouver Island (you won’t find much information about this trail online), we’re bringing you all you need to know about Old Baldy Mountain.
@exploreviwithmeembedded via Located approximately a four-hour drive from Central Vancouver, Old Baldy Mountain is located in Cowichan Valley, overlooking Shawnigan Lake.
To get to the start of the unmarked trail - travel along Shawnigan Lake Road to McKernan Road, then on Galland Road to Baldy Mountain Road. Turn on Strathcona Heights Road to Hawking Road, and travel to just near the end of Hawking Road where you will see a yellow gate across an old forest road to your left. This will be the beginning of the trail up the peak of Old Baldy Mountain!
The trail is fairly easy and is suitable for beginners - just make sure you are well prepared with good hiking shoes!
