If you haven't heard of Oktoberfest, it's an iconic Bavarian festival that takes place in Munich, Germany every year. Maß on Maß of beer, dancing on tables in beer tents, going on carnival rides while tipsy/drunk/wasted — trust me when I say it's an incredible time, and that's an understatement.
And if you can't make it to Oktoberfest in Munich, well good news is Oktoberfest celebrations are coming to you. So prost to Oktoberfest in Vancouver!
Get your lederhosen or dirndl ready because there are several Oktoberfest-style events happening in Vancouver next month.
1. Harvest Haus // 88 Pacific Blvd, Vancouver
Harvest Haus is one of the biggest Oktoberfest celebrations in Vancouver. This fourth annual festival will be taking place at the Festzelte next to BC Place from October 4 to October 14, 2017.
The tented event will have tons of festivities, such as The Stein Games (a beer sports competition), live music, dancing, German fare, the Lippensynchron Battle, axe-throwing and more! There are even seven themed seatings. General admission tickets start from $25 and VIP tickets start from $40.
2. Port Moody Oktoberfest // 100 Newport Drive, Port Moody
This festival was voted the #1 Oktoberfest celebration in Western Canada! The event runs from Friday, September 22 to Sunday, October 1.
There will be original München Oktoberfest beers available, Paulaner, and Hacker-Pschorr (which are seriously amazing!!!). There will also be live music, German food, games and more! Tickets cost $20 for adult admission and $50 for a full festival pass, which gives you entry into the Oktoberfest tent all of the days.
3. Vancouver Alpen Club Oktoberfest // 4875 Victoria Drive, Vancouver
Vancouver Alpen Club's has had an Oktoberfest celebration for every year for 30 years and this year it is back October 6th! The festivities will continue throughout October, on every Friday and Saturday until October 21st. Regular tickets are $35 plus taxes and VIP tickets are $75.
German beer lovers rejoice! The club will have three different German beers, Hofbraeuhaus Muenchen, Krombacher and Erdinger, as well as traditional German food. Enjoy a night of dancing to live music and drinking/eating your heart out.
4. Craft Oktoberfest Vancouver // CRAFT Beer Market Vancouver, 85 West 1st Avenue
CRAFT Beer Market Vancouver is bringing those Oktoberfest beers and foods to you from September 18 - October 1. Steins of Erdinger Weissbier, Erdinger Dunkel, Erdinger Oktoberfest and Stiegl Radler will be available, for you to pair with their Bavarian Schnitzel Sandwich and Pork & Beer Bratwurst.
CRAFT's Oktoberfest Party will be taking place September 29 and 30! On Friday, September 29, they'll even have a live Oompah Band from 8-10pm.
5. Harrison Beer Festival Oktoberfest Dance // 100 Esplanade Avenue, Harrison Hot Springs
The annual Harrison Beer Festival showcases BC Craft Breweries and celebrates craft beer month. The event runs from Friday, October 27 to Saturday, October 28.
The festival will feature an Oktoberfest Dance on October 28th. The night will be filled with dancing, live music, beer, pretzels and bratwurst. Tickets cost $45, which includes a glass mug, your first beer and full access to the Oktoberfest food buffet.
