Japan is famous for having one-of-a-kind pod hotels. Now, it looks like Canada is following in their footsteps. A new pod hotel that is just like the ones in Japan is opening in Canada next month and you can even book a stay now. Panda Pod Hotel will be the second-ever pod hotel in the whole country and the first in Metro Vancouver, BC.
Panda Pod Hotel is opening near Vancouver in Richmond, BC next month in April. It will be a "capsule" style hotel and is modelled after other "pod hotels", a trend that first started in Tokyo.
The hotel hopes to provide visitors to Vancouver with a unique yet affordable stay. "The modern and affordable hotel option is now available in Vancouver," says the Panda Pod Hotel on their website. "Enjoy a cozy stay at our pod accommodation, connect with worldwide travellers and the city within easy reach."
So how much does a stay at one of these small pod-hotels actually cost? Panda Pod Hotel is now offering beds starting at $49 a night for their opening promo, but currently, rates are normally around $53 on their website.
