If you haven't already heard through the grapevine, one of Japan's biggest clothing and accessory brands, Muji, is finally coming to Vancouver!
Okay, fine it won't be a full on store, but they will be opening a pop up shop along side the "Japan Unlayered" Exhibition, which will be hosted by the Fairmont Pacific Rim hotel, January 27 to February 28, 2017.
The exhibition will be designed and curated by Westbank, Peterson, and world-renowned Japanese architect Kengo Kuma.
But don't expect the good news to stop there. A Muji Canada Representative confirmed with The Straight that Muji will definitely be opening Vancouver's first official store location in the New Year.
Muji is actually short for Mujirushi Ryohin meaning "no-brand quality products". Their label's prime focus is on simplicity, minimalism, and essentials, carrying goods such as stationary (those all famous insanely smooth colorful 0.38mm Muji pens), clothing, home decor and furniture, as well as aromatic diffusers, to name a few.
And now we can all die happy knowing that we don't have to constantly call up our relatives/friends in Asia to bring back those legendary Muji pens.
Japan Unlayered has confirmed that you have to sign up for a 15 minute time slot in order to shop at the pop-up retail store. So make sure you guys book an appointment here ASAP!
