The sun was shining, the birds were singing and it was finally beginning to feel like spring! That was quickly ruined when I checked my phone and realized that there was a 100% chance of snow in Vancouver tonight. Not only in Vancouver though, in the suburbs as well!
Yesterday, Environment Canada warned Vancouverites that they may be in for some snow. As of this morning, a new report was released that the City of Vancouver, Metro Vancouver and The North Shore will all affected by the snow expected tonight. After checking my trusty The Weather Channel app an hour ago, it's confirmed that we will definitely be getting flurries of snow tonight.
According to their new report, "Arctic air has been in place over BC's South Coast for several days, a potent storm system over the Alaskan panhandle will advance southwards today, bringing Pacific moisture into the mix." The special weather statement is in effect for Burnaby, New Westminister, Coquitlam, Maple Ridge, Surrey, Langley, Richmond, Delta, West Vancouver and North Vancouver as of 9:10 AM PST Tuesday, February 13th.
Snowfall accumulations of 5 to 15 cm are expected. The snow should end early Wednesday morning, so hopefully, you won't have to deal with any of it!
