Donald Trump and his daughter, Ivanka Trump are in some serious trouble and it's involving their famous building in Vancouver, Trump Tower. The FBI is reportedly reviewing the negotiations and financing surrounding Trump International Tower in Vancouver and Ivanka Trump's involvement.
Apparently the Trumps messy affairs have leached over to Canada. Ivanka and her husband have been trying to gain full security clearance in her role as adviser to President Trump and it's standard procedure to look into international business deals as a sort of "background check". Ivanka Trump took over the $360 million dollar development deal in Vancouver shortly after her father became President and now it's at the centre of an FBI investigation.
The Trump Tower in Vancouver poses an interesting challenge considering that the Trump Organization's rely on international financing. CNN reports that the FBI have been looking closely at the "international business entanglements of Ivanka and her husband Jared, to determine whether these deals could leave them vulnerable to pressure from foreign agents including China."
It hasn't been made clear why investigators are examining the Vancouver deal, but CNN suggests that it maybe the timing that the deal took place, as it was one of a few Trump properties to open after she took office. Or it could be the flow of foreign money from the developer or international condo buyers.
A spokesperson for Ivanka told CNN , they deny that anything of concern has been uncovered. "CNN is wrong that any hurdle, obstacle, concern, red flag or problem has been raised with respect to Ms. Trump or her clearance application".
