It seems like every time I feel like I have been to all the new restaurants in Vancouver, another one opens up! And that is definitely the case this year.

Kissa Tanto // 263 East Pender St
Tannis Ling, owner of Bao Bei, opened this new Chinatown restaurant with her long time executive chef Joël Watanabe and sous chef Alain Chow. The restaurant is located on the second floor of 263 East Pender St and will feature a Japanese and Italian inspired menu.

Dixie's BBQ // 337 East Hastings
This Texas stye BBQ joint opened a a few months ago and has been serving up some delicious authentic Texas dishes. Started by Christina Cottell and Shoel Davidson of Gringo, a Gastown favourite. They also have some bomb chicken and waffles that made it on my 10 Best Vancouver Places To Eat Some Sweet Sweet Chicken And Waffles.

Ramen Gojiro // 501 Dunsmuir St
This new ramen spot opened at its location on Dunsmuir and Richards in March of this year and has quickly become a very popular spot for locals. Opened by the Menya Kouji Group, who also owns one of my personal favourite ramen joints, The Ramen Butcher in Chinatown.

Ritual // 774 Denman St
Ritual is a forward thinking comfort food restaurant that opened in March of this year in the West End. Ritual also has a no tipping policy. Instead, they pay their employees a fair, liveable wage. Owner, Nevada Cope will be serving up freshly baked breads, homemade pop tarts, doughnuts, smoked and braised meats, fresh pasta and much more!

Jam Cafe // 556 Beatty St
The very popular all day breakfast spot in Victoria, Jam Cafe has made its way across the Strait and recently opened on Beatty Street. If eggs are your thing, Jam Cafe will become your new favourite spot...they serve SEVEN different styles of Eggs Benedict.

Terrior Kitchen // 2232 Marine Dr
This Southern European style restaurant opened in West Vancouver in late May and the menu features French, Italian, Spanish, and North African styles of cooking.

Using the tide-to-table concept this cool little oyster bar opened in June of this year in the Stadium District in downtown Vancouver.

A coffee and chocolate lovers dream! This cute little 12-seat chocolate, ice cream, and espresso shop is certain to become a local favourite.

Crowbar // 646 Kingsway
Former L’Abattoir employees Jeremy Pigeon and William Johnson opened this spot on June 20th. The casual concept offers a great local hangout with unreal cocktails and sophisticated snacks.

Gastown's popular Notturuno was closed on a high note and re-opened by Chef William Robitaille’ with a new, Japanese cuisine style concept.

Lucky Taco // 1685 Yew Street
This cool little 36-seat taco joint opened on Yew Street in mid July. The atmosphere is awesome and the shop is super colourful. Open late on the weekend (2am) this spot is sure to become a local after-the-bar favourite.
