September is basically upon us which means back to school, back to work and back to rain. And although that thought may send some of you into a crippling depression there are still lots of cool things to be done in the month of August.
Make sure to pencil in some much needed fun time into your schedule and take a break from all the studying or working. Fall in Vancouver is a beautiful thing and if you're young and broke AF here are some free things to do in Vancouver this September.
From September 3rd to September 5th head to Granville street between Smithe and Dunsmuir and celebrate Taiwanese culture. There will be food, live performances and workshops to enjoy.
This market actually extends all the way until September 27th and has free admission. Located in Richmond, you can check out a huge array food trucks and performances.
The North Vancouver Shipyards Night Market takes place on Fridays from 5pm to 10pm and offers Free Admission. It will take place until September 30th. Listen to live music and head over to the VIP beer garden for some craft beer.
4. Serbian Days
The 26th annual Serbian Days Festival will take placed on September 4th and 5th at the Saint Sava Church on 63rd ave and St
Celebrate Richmond's significant culture and diversity and party at Minoru Park on September 3rd from 11am - 9pm.
On Sunday September 2nd from 2pm – 9pm come check out a free celebration of Vancouver indie music.
Get your zombie face on and take place in the 2016 Vancouver Zombie Walk on Saturday September 10th from 3pm - 6pm by the Art Gallery.
Celebrate Mexican Independence Day and listen to authentic Mexican music and eat some great food on September 4th from 12pm – 5pm at the Roundhouse Community Centre.
10. Coho Festival
At Ambleside Park in West Vancouver on Sunday September 11th from 11am - 6pm bring your family and listen to some live music. You can also chose to take part in the Coho Walk or Run around the Salmon hatchery.
On Saturday September 3rd between 3pm and 9pm check out a free charity car show in the parking lot at the Starlight Casino in New West.
12. Pie in the Plaza
This public festival in Surrey will feature the creation and consumption of the largest pie in BC history. Grab a slice of the historical dessert, take part in a pie throwing contest, and check out the petting zoo on September 17th.
13. Terry Fox Run
Sunday September 18th show your support to cancer research and take part in the Terry Fox Run in your community.
14. Check out the 41 new murals all over Mount Pleasant
Last Saturday was Mural Festival, and over 40 new murals now cover the streets of the downtown east side and Mount Pleasant. Take a stroll and get some shots for your Insta!
