Summer in Vancouver is always so perfect for some outdoor exercise. Of all the great ways to stay in shape in Vancouver, tennis is one of the best options for you and some friends. Not only will it be a great workout, but the competitiveness of it only adds to the fun. It's also a great idea for a date if your partner is athletic and doesn't mind a little friendly competition.
So next time you want to get out of the house and knock a few balls, there are several locations in the the city that are super nice. After a few warmup rallies, have a game and see who comes up the victor.
1. Stanley Park Tennis Courts // Lwr 8901 Stanley Pk
There are eleven free tennis courts located near the Beach Ave entrance of the park. Operates on a first-come, first-served basis and if all the courts are full and someone is waiting, there is a 30 minute limit. This way you know you'll never have to wait long to have a few rallies.
2. West End Tennis Courts // 1677-1689 Barclay St
There are a few chill public courts here. They're mostly in the sun which is great if you want to work on your tan while you play.
3. David Lam Tennis Courts // 350 Beach Cres
Nice free courts in the park. They'll be in the shade for a lot of the day if you want to stay cool. The courts also have a fantastic view of False Creek which makes this a more peaceful place to play.

4. Sutcliffe Park Tennis Courts // 1318 Cartwright St
If you are hanging out on Granville Island and feel like playing a little tennis this a great park with two fine free tennis courts.
5. Charleston Park Tennis Courts // 600 Moberly Rd
Another great park if you don't want to deal with the city. They have five rooftop courts right next to the park that are definitely worth checking out.
6. Granville Loop Park Tennis Courts // 1435 W 5th Ave
There are two courts here in Fairview. Great for a few quick games after work or early in the morning.
7. Kitsilano Beach Park Tennis Courts // 1499 Arbutus St
This is an amazing place to play tennis with ten courts available. The area is super nice and if you get hot, you can always take a break and take a dip in the ocean.
8. Heather Park Tennis Courts // 702 W 18th Ave
Four more amazing courts in a pretty area. The park is usually very quiet so you'll have the place to yourself.

9. Jericho Beach Park Tennis Courts // 3941 Point Grey Rd
Let's be real... Playing tennis is best when you can accompany it with swimming. These four courts are really well-kept and the beach nearby is awesome. This way after getting all sweaty, you can refresh and start another game!
