Having trouble trying to figure out your plans for this weekend? Well not anymore! Close the Netflix and maybe postpone the picnic at Stanley Park for the moment. This weekend, on July 29th and 30th, BC's biggest Carribean festival is returning to Vancouver!
The Carribean Days Festival is back and is calling all food and fun-lovers to North Vancouver's Waterfront park for a weekend of parading, dining, partying and dancing in the sunshine! The festival has grown in the past year, and tens of thousands of attendees are expected for the weekend!
The best part? It's completely free!
The festival is held in Waterfront Park, a mere Seabus away from downtown. The North side of Waterfront Park is dedicated to food concession and a colossal beverage garden. The South side is an all-out party with an outdoor music festival, live dancers and performers, plus rides and entertainment!
Want to know more about the food? Done and done. This weekend is the perfect place to try spicy, authentic Carribean delicacies made fresh in front of your eyes! We're talking jerk chicken, jamaican patties, and fried plantains! And to cool off, a beer garden and traditional Carribean beverages.
The special event of the weekend is an outdoor dance that's held on Saturday evening from 7:30 PM to 1 AM! It's an outdoor party at the Lonsdale Quay pier that'll also have food and drink available on-site! Costing $25 for early bird and $30 at the door, it features traditional reggae, calypso, latin and afrobeat all night!
The festivities kick off with a street parade on Saturday at 10 AM! The festival takes place 11 AM to 7 PM on both days, and is free of charge to enter into!
