Cheese Tea Is A Real Thing In Vancouver And It's Actually Amazing

Is everything better when you add in the cheddar?

Are you someone who puts cheese on everything? Who visits a restaurant and defaults to anything with cheese? Nachos, pasta, burgers, sandwiches, extra cheese? Well here's one of the latest food trends blowing up in Asia, and you can now get a taste of this in Vancouver!

Salted Cheese Tea has been the most recent craze, spurring hour-long lines and giant crowds of people looking to order this wacky drink. It's a layer of cheese served over your choice of tea (typically jasmine), mixed with whipped cream and lightly seasoned with salt.

The added layer is said to add a whole new level of flavour with notes of creaminess and saltiness. People even go so far as to give instructions on drinking it - a 40 degree angle is said to give the "right" amount of both cheese and tea with each sip.

You'll be able to find this unique flavour at Happy Lemon. They've got two locations, in both Downtown Vancouver and Richmond. You can even get milk tea and chocolate-flavoured tea with the salted cheese topping. So do you really love cheese? Time to put your money where your mouth is and prove it!
