Vancouver's Most Magical Outdoor Ice Skating Rink Opens For Winter Next Week

Get ready for date night!

It's that time of year again when radio stations begin to play Christmas music, the shopping centres are bustling with eager shoppers and Vancouver's most magical outdoor ice rink is filled to the brim with gliding ice skaters. In the evening, the rink illuminates in shades of pinks and purples, making it perfect for date night. This tiny hub is Vancouver's most coveted Christmas activity.

If you still don't know what magical ice rink I'm talking about, then you're probably not from Vancouver. This spot is the epitome of Christmas in Vancouver. Located smack dab in the center of downtown, this beautiful winter oasis is the perfect place to slide on your skates and glide around the rink with your best friends.

Every year, without fail, Vancouver's hottest date spot is the Robson Square Ice Rink. This underground ice rink is a sublime getaway from the busy streets above. Although, it does get crazy busy on the weekends, but that's only because admission is completely free!

The Robson Square Ice Rink is located at 800 Robson St, directly in front of the Vancouver Art Gallery. The rink opens on December 1 for the winter season! The rink is open from 9 AM to 9 PM Sunday - Thursday, and 9 AM to 11 PM Friday and Saturday.

If you have your own skates then you're skating for free. If you plan to rent skates, bring $4. Make sure to bring cash, because they don't accept any credit or debit cards! This is old-fashioned fun, remember?

Now, lace up your skates and get skating!
