Fall is also known for Halloween, and there are a ton of haunts and spooks to be experienced in Vancouver. But if you want a break from the getting spooked, there is the other side to fall – the basic but adorable side.
You've most likely been to tons of pumpkin patches and corn mazes, but have you ever been to an apple orchard? This is a super cute autumn activity that is seriously underrated. There's a place near Vancouver where you can get all your fall activities done in one location.

Taves Family Farm home to the one and only Applebarn in the Lower Mainland. It is a family farm that grows and shares farm-to-table ingredients. There are several fun activities and attractions at Taves Family Farm.
You can pick your very own apples from their many trees at Taves Family Farms. Now that you can't go berry picking anymore like in summer, you can do an equally cute and fun activity and go apple picking! There are several different types of applies currently available to pick, such as Fuji, Honeycrisp, Alkmene and more! This autumn activity isn't costly either – it costs just $7 for adults to visit their Applebarn and if you decide to pick your own apples, U-pick prices start from $8.00 for a 5 lbs bag.
The Applebarn at Taves is filled with fun farm and fall festivities. According to the farm, it was started over twenty-five years ago "with the dream of providing a farm-fun experience centered around the gifts of fall".
The Applebarn offers several attractions, such as hayrides, pony rides, U-pick apples, a pumpkin patch, a Corn Quest Maze, tire swings, pet barn animals and more. There's even a sunflower patch right now, which is sure to provide adorable Insta-worthy pics.
Located in the Fraser Valley, the farm is only an hour to an hour and a half drive away from the city. This makes it a fun day trip, and you can stop at other spots along the way. For instance, if you wanted to explore the haunted side of fall as well, you could go to the Haunted Corn Maze at Maan Farms, which is also located in Abbotsford.
Taves Family Farm will only be open until October 31, so make sure you go get your fill of fall activities before then. They are open seven days a week until Thanksgiving weekend. Afterward, from October 9 to October 30, they are open Sunday to Wednesday from 9 AM to 5:30 PM and Thursday, Friday & Saturday from 9 AM to 6:30 PM. On their last day for the 2018 season, October 31, they will be open from 9 AM to 5 PM.
Taves Family Farm is located at 333 Gladwin Rd in Abbotsford, BC. If you drive, it'll take about an hour to hour and a half from Vancouver depending on traffic. You can reach the farm by taking the Trans-Canada Hwy/BC-1 E. Afterwards, take exit 87 for Clearbrook Road S. There is free parking on site.
